The fiery, emotional debate climaxed when Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, the most junior member of the House, told of a phone call she received from a Marine colonel.
“He asked me to send Congress a message - stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message - that cowards cut and run, Marines never do,” Schmidt said.
Only, Rep. Murtha is a 37 year vet of the Marines, having served in Vietnam. I am sure he is a coward (EXTREME SARCASM IMPLIED).
On a side note, Rep. Schmidt is the one who barely squeaked by Paul Hackett in a special election this year, if I were her, I would be worrying finding another job in 2006. The American sentiment differs greatly with her on this issue.
